I would be down for this female Link ⊟
Nintendo and Tecmo Koei have shared what looks like concept art for a gender-swapped version of Link, according to these photos taken of the Hyrule Warriors strategy/art book for Japan. The design looks great, even if it’s hard to tell her apart from the Dragon’s Crown Elf — then again, I guess bows, flowing cloaks/tunics, and thigh-high boots are common accoutrements when designers set out to create elves.
You can preorder the English version of the Hyrule Warriors Game Guide, which includes a 70-page art section, from Amazon here (currently discounted by 30%). Thanks to Layiko for the photo (via GoNintendo).

Wait, some of you aren’t digging the new Zelda game’s look? ⊟

I’m surprised to see how many people are upset over Link’s feminine design or the game’s overall aesthetic. This all looks gorgeous to me! This official art is wallpaper-level, and I could stare at these GIFs (via Anthony) all afternoon.

Anyway, the Wii U game is expected to release some time next year, and is pitched as “the first truly open world in a game from the series”.
